Phyllonorycter roboris
(Zeller, 1839)
Wingspan 7-9 mm.
One of the more distinctive of the Phyllonorycter species, with its unmarked white area in the centre of the wing and large brown patch at the base.
The species is found in mature oak woodland, and is distributed though uncommonly, throughout England and Wales, and has been recorded in Ireland.
The adults fly in June in a single generation, and the larva feeds on oak (Quercus), forming a large, rounded blister mine without any strong creases on the underside.
