Catoptria falsella

Wingspan18-22 mm.

A reasonably uncommon species which nonetheless is distributed over much of Britain, most frequently in the south.

Flying in July and August, it can be attracted to light.

The larva feeds on mosses growing on walls, especially Tortula muralis, and forms a silken tube.
